Döhler, a German food and beverage ingredients maker, is set to integrate its Mexican subsidiary Innoval Döhler into the group this month, raising its holding in the unit to 100%.
The deal marks a crucial step in Döhler's efforts to reinforce its presence in North and Central America.
In 2006, the company acquired a 40% share in Mexican ingredient specialist Innovación Alimentaria. Since then, Innovación Alimentaria emerged as Döhler's prominent hub in Central America under the name Innoval Döhler.
Following the deal, Doehler Mexico will expand its reach to the US and Canadian markets. The company also develops sweetening systems and low-calorie food and beverage applications.
Juan Maldonado, earlier commercial director at Grupo Altex, will lead the company as general manager, while Gustavo León and Ricardo León of Innovación Alimentaria will remain with the company.
Headquartered in Darmstadt, Germany, Döhler is a manufacturer of technology-based natural ingredients, ingredient systems and integrated solutions for the food and beverage industry.
