Spar said this week that its full-year revenue grew by 2.9% in 2013 to €12.9 billion, while sales excluding its SPAR European Shopping Centres unit rose by 2.9% to €11.2 billion.
Sales in its home market of Austria (excluding the Hervis chain) were up 4.3% to €5.8 billion, while Hervis reported a drop of 4% to €420 million. Additionally, sales in Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy and Slovenia were up 1.8% to €4.96 billion.
Spar said it plans to invest €450 million this year on its domestic and international operations, and will look to expand rapidly.
