American seafood company is launching a nationwide promotional tour to celebrate the company's 100th anniversary.
The tour is expected to take six months and span 39 cities. Along with promoting its products, Chicken of the Sea has also announced it will be awarding USD 1 million (EUR 719,142) to local nonprofits and "individuals making a difference in their local communities."
The tour will also feature free recipes and other giveaways, including 10 prizes of USD 10,000 (EUR 7,191).
"We are excited to bring our Centennial celebration to hometowns all over America to honor community service champions and nonprofits with the goal of empowering them to continue their cycle of good," said Christie Fleming, the San Francisco-based company's senior VP of marketing.
The company, best known for its canned tuna, will visit supermarkets and "other public and private venues" throughout the tour, finishing on Labor Day weekend.
