Investment firms Inalca (Cremonini Group) and Knightsbridge have partnered to establish Inalca Eurasia Holdings, a joint venture to develop food distribution and meat production activities in the Eurasian markets.
Inalca will own 60% of the venture, while Knightsbridge will have 40% through its Cascade International unit.
The JV will oversee all of the activities currently developed by Inalca in Russia, which has had presence in the country since 1985.
It will allow Inalca to strengthen its operations in Eurasian countries, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
Cremonini runs a hamburgers production plant in Moscow and five logistics platforms to distribute over 2,000 food products to more than 2,500 customers.
Additionally, it will inaugurate a slaughterhouse in Orenburg with a capacity of 50,000 head per year.
