About 105,000 acres of table grapes were grown in the state last year, up from 98,000 acres in 2012, according to the California Department of Food and Agriculture’s annual California Grape Acreage Report.

About 95,000 of that was bearing acreage and 10,000 non-bearing acreage.

Wine grapes accounted for 570,000 acres and raisins for 203,000 acres in California in 2013.

The top California table grape varieties by acreage in 2013, in order, were flame, crimson, globe, sugraone, autumn royal, princess, ruby and perlette.

More acres of grapes for all uses were planted in Fresno County than in any other California county. It was followed, in order, by San Joaquin, Madera, Kern, Sonoma, Monterey, Tulare and Napa counties.
