Hot on the heels of itsUrban re-launch at the beginning of April, food to go brand Urban eat has added three new lines to its range of savoury pastries.

As well as adding the new products, a Cheese and Onion Roll and individual and twin pack Pork Pies, the brand has also taken the opportunity to increase the quality and shelf life of the rest of the range.

Brand manager Isla Biggin said: “Whilst our savoury pastries are really popular with Urban eat consumers, we recognised an opportunity to put some clear blue water between ourselves and our competitors by increasing the meat content of both our Pasty and Sausage Roll products.

“We have also increased the weight of other products in the range to make them even better value for money whilst at the same time giving retailers a guaranteed five day shelf life to make it easier for them to manage their stock.

“We expect the new products to have particular appeal during the summer months and with Pork Pies enjoying something of a renaissance as a result of the trend towards nostalgic British foods we are very excited about this extension to our savoury pastry offering.”

The £100m Urban eat brand supplies a wide range of high quality chilled food to go products including sandwiches, salads, prepared fruits and snack pots to the convenience retail, travel and contract catering sectors.
