Melon prices low in France, apricots increase

According to Relaxnews, the yellow Charente melon has an extremely low price this year, dropping 20% to €1.30/a piece compared to €2.40 the same week last year.

Apricot prices are increasing again. Large calibres reach €4.09 (+9%) and medium calibre's €3.09 (+8%). Price per kilo of coeur de boeuf tomatoes increase 7% to €2.99/kilo.

Yellow nectarines see a 15% decrease to €2.90 and round French vine tomatoes to €2.02/kilo.

The Relaxnews price barometer is made every Wednesday using information from the Market News Service, under the Ministry of Agriculture. Every week 20 or so SNM employees record the retail prices of 150 products (fruit, vegetable, meat, fish…) in 150 medium and large supermarkets all over France (a representative sample of household consumption in France, conducted by Sofres).
