Whole Foods Market is recalling cherry, blackberry and peach pies as they contain egg which is not mentioned on the packaging, according to the US Food and Drug Administration.
The products associated with the recall include whole pies, half pies and slices bearing PLUs: 22203700000, 24919900000, 24901100000, 24912200000, 22197400000, 22202000000, 24189800000, 24189900000, 24190200000 with best by dates from 26 June through 3 July 2015.
The recall has been initiated after it was found that the products contain egg as an ingredient, which was not declared on the label, during a routine product review.
The recalled products were sold in four Whole Foods Market stores in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana.
Consumption of the recalled products may cause serious or life-threatening allergic reaction in people allergic or sensitive to egg. No illnesses have been reported associated with the consumption of the recalled products till now.
Customers who have purchased the recalled products are advised to discard the product or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
