Retail network "Magnit" has put into operation the second stage of development of its greenhouse complex “Zelyonaya Liniya”, which is located in the Dinskoy district in Krasnodar Krai. Now, the total area of the complex is 83 hectares. The company began the second phase of the complex, the 40 hectare expansion in October 2014. The total investments in the project are estimated at €200 million.

80 of the 83 hectares are planted with cucumbers. On the remaining 3 hectares, seedlings and greens are grown. In 2014 ‘Magnit’ produced around 6 million units of green vegetables and herbs, such as salad greens, dill, and parsley, and 15,000 tons of cucumbers. The harvest expected this year has not been specified to the press service. It is only known that all produce from the greenhouse is sold exclusively in the ‘Magnit’ stores.

In 2014 in the Krasnodar Krai 766,900 tons of vegetables were produced, including 55,000 tons of vegetables grown under cover (greenhouse cucumbers, tomatoes and peppers.) According to the Ministry of Agriculture in the Kuban region, an average of between 550,000-750,000 tons of vegetable products are imported into the region.
