Kaohsiung Bureau of Agriculture visited the Middle East to expand their fruit sales, where Prince Mohammed from Oman tasted their dates, guava and dragon fruit at the exhibition, and expressed his willingness to export fruits from Kaohsiung.

Moreover, he planned to visit Kaohsiung in the future to promote bilateral economic and trade exchanges. Mr. Cai Fujin, Secretary from the Agriculture Bureau said no Taiwan fruits have successfully entered the Oman market yet.

However, the fruits specially selected by Kaohsiung will finally be introduced to Oman through road shows, thanks to the full assistance of Taipei Economic and Cultural Rep Office in Oman and the International Office of the Council of Agriculture.

Moreover, Prince Mohammed AL-Said of Oman and representatives from the Ministry of Commerce & Industry and Congress Statistical Information Service also attended the seminar, tasting Kaohsiung production dates, guavas and dragon fruits.

A date for a future visit to Kaohsiung will be arranged for more efficient communication and exchange.
