Currently as several major banana plantation areas suffered the extreme cold wave weather at the same time, banana produce in Yunnan province decreased 10% -15%, while Guangxi province banana yields reduced 25%. As a result, the banana price surged quickly.
At this moment, the average price of bananas is around 3.32 yuan per kilo, a 45% increase during the past 2 weeks. While consumer demands continue, imported banana sales are gaining popularity due to the low domestic banana yields.
