Tetra Pak, Vernon Hills, Ill., acquired Laude, a leader in the design, development and manufacture of plastic moulds used in hard and semi-hard cheese production. The acquisition will strengthen the company’s position as a leading provider of complete solutions for cheese manufacturing, and will extend the availability of Laude products in the global market.
Based in Ter Apel, The Netherlands, with 38 employees, Laude is at the forefront of cheese mould design and supply, offering exceptional performance and durability, coupled with superior hygiene and cleanability standards.
“Laude has established a reputation for providing very high-quality moulds and service to the cheese industry,” says Tim High, executive vice president processing systems for Tetra Pak. “We are delighted to add Laude products to our already comprehensive portfolio, and offer even more competitive cheese lines with guaranteed performance.”
“Our customers will continue to get market leading products and services from Laude,” adds Auke Rienks, managing director of Laude. “We see an exciting opportunity for international growth through Tetra Pak channels, particularly outside of Europe, where our focus has been in the past.”
Laude will form part of Tetra Pak Cheese and Powder Systems, and will remain in its current location under the leadership of Auke Rienks and his existing management team.
