In cooperation with CRF Frozen Foods' May 2, 2016 voluntary recall of multiple frozen food items that could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, Albertsons and Safeway stores in seven states are voluntarily recalling Crunchy Pea Salad, which contains an ingredient that are subject to CRF Frozen Foods' recall.
Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
The recalled Crunchy Pea Salad is sold by weight from the deli counter at Albertsons and Safeway stores in Colorado (Delta, Grand Junction and Montrose), Idaho, Montana, Nevada (Elko), Oregon, Washington and Utah.
The UPC Code and Sell Thru Date are located on the scale label.
No illnesses or injuries have been reported in connection with Safeway's and Albertsons' recall. This recall is being issued out of an abundance of caution.
Customers are asked to discard the product or return it to their local store for a full refund.
