Known as the town of pears in China, Botou city is one of the oldest regions for pear cultivation in China. In the first quarter of this year, a total of 566 batches of fresh Botou pear were exported abroad, reaching 14,040 tons, an increase of 32% and 26% respectively.
"In the US, our fresh pears are sold almost 100% more expensive than regular pears. Explained Mr. Guo Yusen, the representative of Botou Oriental Fruit Co., Ltd. After one year of hard work, their pears can now be imported to Israel as well, which is the first time ever for Chinese pears.
Mr. Gu is also the vice president of the branch pear Association of China Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine, and he explained that the export volume of Botou Oriental Fruit Co., Ltd. has increased over 20%, and its export value has increased significantly by over 70%, which lead to an increase of their market share in the high end markets.
