Smucker Foods of Canada is voluntarily recalling some production codes of Golden Temple, Swad, and Maya flour products sold in the U.S. for possible E. coli O121 contamination. These products were made by Ardent Mills in Saskatchewan, Canada.
The products are all packaged in 20 pound paper bags and were distributed nationwide to 19 distributors and two small retailers. There are no reported illnesses associated with the U.S. product recall. There is an E. coli O121 outbreak in Canada that is associated with some flours produced by Ardent Mills.
The recalled products include Maya Durum Wheat Atta Flour with UPC number 0 20843 10001 9 and lot codes 6 286 548 and 6 287 548; Swad Durum Atta Flour Chappati Flour with UPC number 0 51179 16030 9 and lot codes 6 294 548, 6 299 548, 6 300 548, and 6 308 548; and Golden Temple #1 Fine Durum Atta Flour Blend with UPC number 0 59000 40540 7 and lot codes 6 286 548 (best by Jan 2018) and 6 299 54 (best by Jan 2018). Also recalled is Golden Temple Durum Atta Flour Blend with UPC number 0 59000 41556 7 and lot codes 6 287 548 (best by Jan 2018), 6 288 548 (best by Jan 2018), 6 294 548 (best by Jan 2018), 6 295 548 (best by Jan 2018), 6 300 548 (best by Jan 2018), 6 301 548 (best by Jan 2018), 6 306 548 (best by Feb 2018), 6 307 548 (best by Feb 2018), and 6 308 548 (best by Feb 2018). If you purchased these products, do not use them, even if you are going to bake with them. Throw them away in a sealed container or take them back to the place of purchase for a refund.
