Core Tip: Gannan Navel Orange is a national geographical signature product of China.
Gannan Navel Orange is a national geographical signature product of China. This year is an off year for navel oranges, and because of the severe frost disaster last winter, the spring fruit had less rain, resulting in a decrease in the number of navel oranges. Therefore, it is estimated that this year's output may be reduced by one-third compared with last year.

The phenomenon of the on and off year in navel orange production is common in all orchards, causing large fluctuations in output, a decrease in fruit quality and uniformity. The fruit is small in size, high in acidity and there are more abnormal fruit. While in an on year, the price of navel oranges is falls, resulting in a overstocking problem which lowers the yield despite its large output. In the small year, the price is high but the fruit is scarce. Even if there is fruit, the quality is far from satisfying, which seriously affects the economic income of the fruit farmers.

Gannan navel orange can be planted all year round. June, July and August is the strong fruiting period of the navel orange. By September, the size, quality and taste of the navel orange have been shaped. By November, the navel orange is fully mature and can be harvested by large areas.
