The goal is to increase this number up to 1,000 tons and the Demirci Agricultural Chamber of Commerce has been providing training sessions to the growers to help them increase their productivity and the quality of products.

The potato harvest has started in Demirci ,Manisa, a city located in western Turkey. Potato production was started as an alternative product and the price level has been so far satisfactory for the growers. Currently potato prices at the grower are around 0.10 USD per kg, which represents a 15 % increase over last year’s prices and the production in the area is around 750 tons.
