"Over the first few years we focused on the creation of systems for the processing of fennel, broccoli and artichokes, then there was an evolution that enabled us to become a leading business in the manufacturing of dyers for fruit and vegetables," explains Antonio Ferragonio, sales manager for TecnoFrutta, a company focusing on technological R&D to make the processing of produce easier.

TecnoFrutta is located in Orto Nova (FG), the most productive area in Puglia, and is now one of the most advanced companies when it comes to the designing and manufacturing of machinery and systems for the fresh produce and canning industry.

"We design and build machinery of both the static and continuous kind according to the specific needs of each client. Static systems employ forced air movement circulating around the vegetable matrix placed on trays in the drying chambers. The machine is made of AISI 304 stainless steel and is suitable for the production of all semi-dry, dry and chip products."

"Continuous dryers are a new product, yet they are made of AISI 304 stainless steel as well. The machine manages to extract water from the vegetable matter stressing is as little as possible. This operation is carried out at low temperatures and low humidity levels. The produce is placed on modular thermoplasitc mats and is continuously overturned. This way it retains its organoleptic qualities and dries very uniformly."

"Most of our plants are found in EU countries such as France, Germany, Belgium, Poland, Spain and the UK as well as in other continents (such as Africa and America)."

"The demand for quick healthy snacks has increased, so fruit and vegetable chips such as Apple Chips, Pineapple Chips, Mango Chips, Coconut Chips and Tomato Chips were developed ."

"Demand for healthy snacks is very high in some European and American countries. In addition, territories such as Central American and Africa - characterized by excessive fresh produce - needed to find a way of diversifying their catalog by installing drying systems."

"2019 will be an important year for us, as we are exploring new markets outside of the food and agricultural sector."
