Today, Cambodia officially began directly exporting fresh mangoes to China. The official fresh mango export ceremony was held in Samrong Teav Village, Khan Sen Sok district, Phnom Penh, in the presence of Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Veng Sakhon. The first shipments were made by 5 companies, all officially recognized in the list of 37 mango plantations and 5 packaging plants registered for exporting fresh mangoes to China.
After fresh bananas, fresh Cambodian mangoes are the second fresh fruits that can now be exported to China directly. It is the result of excellent cooperation between the Cambodia and the People’s Republic of China.
On behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of the kingdom of Cambodia, Veng Sakhon expressed his thanks to the government of the People’s Republic of China -in particular the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China- for its official permission to import fresh mangoes from Cambodia.
