Core Tip: Michigan State University is set to invest millions of dollars in a partnership aimed at making Detroit a world leader in urban agriculture.
The partnership, known as Detroit Urban Farming and Agriculture, will see the university working with over 80 local farming groups, providing them with access to the latest agricultural technologies.

The university will also help them develop strategies to create a more uniform regional food system, reported the Huffington Post.

Initially, the university has committed for a three-year partnership with the city. The program will be carried out primarily by faculty representing colleges including Agriculture and Natural Resources, plus the MSU AgBioResearch office and MSU Extension.
