Core Tip: FrieslandCampina Kievit has launched a ‘sweet creamer’ concept that has been shown to replace more than 40% of the sugar in sweetened instant drinks.
The concept incorporates sugar in the creamer as a substitute for glucose syrup. Potential sweetened instant beverage applications include 3-in-1 coffee, milk tea, cappuccino and cocoa drinks.

The sweet creamer concept has been shown to offer cost savings of more than 30c per kg (2.2 lbs) of end product. Since the creamer uses fewer raw materials, additional savings may be found in packaging materials, transport, water and energy consumption, according to FrieslandCampina Kievit.
