Core Tip: Columbus Foods, a US-based producer of specialty meats, has introduced molded Hot Sopressata salame to its deli selection.
Columbus Foods noted that Columbus' molded Hot Sopresata, which is naturally aged for 50 days, is coarsely chopped, with chile de arbol, fennel, and sherry wine.

It features spicy flavor of peppers and fennel, which is enhanced by its outer layer of Fiore. Fiore is a soft white coating of aromatic mold that protects the meat from excessive drying and enhances flavor.

Hot Sopressata salame is made with 100% pork and is gluten free, containing no MSG or trans fats.

Previously only available in individual 8 oz. sizes, molded Hot Sopressata will be available at the deli department sliced to order along with Columbus' full range of bulk deli products.

It has a suggested retail price of $12.99 - $14.99 per pound and will be available in the deli at select grocery and specialty stores across the US beginning in September.

Columbus Foods produces Italian-style dry cured salame and a range of premium deli meats that are marketed under the Columbus brand.
