Recently, two berths in national central fishing port in Quanzhou, Fujian were officially listed as provincial opening-up port of Fujian province, which also symbolized that Quanzhou moved one step further towards building deep-sea fisheries.
According to local inspection and quarantine bureau, a total of 3, 431.3 tonnes of self-caught aquatic products gained access inland in October through deep-sea fishing operation area, up by 82.8% year on year; in first 10 months in 2016, Quanzhou port received a total of 21, 594.5 tonnes of self-caught aquatic products, increasing by 9.3% year on year.
Compared with ordinary berths, waiting time in professional operation ports was exceedingly shortened. And relatively professional loading and unloading team and facilities sped up operation time by 20%, from 400 tonnes to 500 tonnes each day. Infrastructures and facilities near inspection site were relatively complete, which could realize instant inspection and clearance for more than 80% self-caught aquatic products with low and middle-risks. What’s more, cold storage and aquatic product processors were relatively centralized around fishing ports. Sales of deep-sea fishes was convenient here and could drive development of relevant supporting industry.
