Tilaknagar Industries is planning to acquire interest in an alcoholic beverage manufacturing company in North India. The company is open to inorganic growth through JV or other formats.
The company has recently entered an arrangement to bottle alcoholic beverages for Pernod Ricard India Pvt Ltd in Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.
In March, the company acquired Srirampur Grains Pvt Ltd to strengthen it raw material supply chain. Srirampur Grains, is currently engaged in the business of agricultural products, and is expected to enable the company to not only procure grains directly from the farmers, but also generate higher yields.
Last October, it acquired Punjab Expo Breveries with bottling capacity of 50,000 units.
Tilaknagar Industries manufactures Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL). It has a diversified brand portfolio comprising of more than 30 brands. It has 31 manufacturing facilities spread across India. It also operates through 2 subsidiaries, 7 lease arrangements and 21 tie-up arrangements.
Its portfolio includes brands such as Mansion House, Senate whisky, Courrier Napoelean brandy. The Company exports its products to Western Africa, the Middle East, the Far East and Caribbean countries.
In this space, Diageo Plc. was planning to buy a minority stake in United Spirits.
