UK-based supermarket chain Morrisons has recalled a celery, fruit and peanut salad because it has been incorrectly packaged with pesto pasta, which contains wheat and gluten, according to the UK Foods Standards Agency (FSA).

The presence of wheat and gluten is not declared on the packaging of the product, posing a potential health risk for people who are allergic to or intolerant of wheat and gluten.

The product affected by the recall is Morrisons Celery, Fruit and Peanut Salad, 250g, with a use by date of 27 October 2012.

Morrisons is recalling the affected batch from sale and customer notices will be displayed in stores to let consumers know the reason behind the recall. Consumers can return it to the store for a full refund.

In addition, the company has contacted the relevant allergy support organization who will inform their 'at risk' members of the recall.
