"Wow such big news...our Chocolate Peanut Butter Gelato made with Soy Milk was just judged 'Best in Show' and 'Best Desserts, Baked Goods, and Sweet Snacks.'"

It was indeed big news on the Facebook page of Gelato Petrini, Delray Beach, Florida, when Kosherfest 2012 announced the company was a double prize winner at the show, which will take place in the NewJersey Meadowland Convention Center in Secaucus Nov. 13-14.

Another winner, for Best New Frozen Entrée, was Ta'amti Pizza Pinwheels from Blue & White Foods, Long Island City, New York.

"This year's list of new products was very impressive, posing a challenge for our panel of judges," said Bill Springer, Group Vice President, Diversified Business Communications, and show producer for Kosherfest, said to be the world's largest kosher trade show.

"At Gelato Petrini we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality, hygiene and kashrut in the production of our Gelato," the company explains at its website. "We use traditional Italian artesian techniques and never use powders or mass produced bases. All of our flavors are batched developed in house, using only the finest ingredients carefully selected to maintain the integrity of the gelato.

This means that only the freshest fruits, choicest roasted nuts and the highest quality confections are allowed into our facility. We are fortunate to be based in Florida where a variety of citrus and exotic fruits are grown and whenever possible we pride ourselves on partnering with local producers and purveyors. All of our ingredients are all natural and we never sweeten our gelato with corn syrup."
