David Lishman, the founder of Lishman’s of Ilkley Butchers shop, has launched Yorkshire Sausage and Champion Sausage in Asda.
The sausages, which are made using the original recipes developed by David Lishman, are manufactured by UK food supplier Cranswick. The products are made using Yorkshire pork and are packed into natural casings.
In order to develop the Yorkshire Sausage, about six varieties of sausage were created and voted for by 3,500 people. The winning Yorkshire Sausage recipe received over 60% of the votes and is now the number two seller in Lishman's shop, while the Champion Sausage remains the top selling sausage.
David Lishman said that the Yorkshire sausage is a peppery combination of herbs and spices, and is suitable for breakfast or dinner.
"We gave it a smooth texture which a lot of people like and makes it different to other premium, courser sausages in the supermarket," Lishman added.
The Yorkshire Sausage and Champion Sausage are available in Asda for an RRP of £2.28 with a trial price of £2.
David Lishman's Ilkley Butchers shop offers meat products sourced from local farms and serves about 2,000 customers a week.
