Cambridge Design Partnership, a UK-based consulting company that develops products in the medical, consumer and clean-tech sectors, has launched Esfresco, a new in-home coffee making machine.
Esfresco features a range of original components including a grinder and a standalone storage system with an airlock to keep coffee beans fresh, at the same time allowing portion delivery and consumption.
A new technology in the coffee machine minimizes coffee bean's exposure to oxygen, moisture, light and outgassing, and preserves the aroma, taste and 'crema' of freshly ground coffee, claims the company.
Cambridge Design Partnership senior design engineer Matt Brady said: "Qualitative and quantitative testing has so far seen excellent results, and we're confident this concept has the potential to disrupt the market by offering, for the first time, consistent delivery of coffee-shop quality in the home."
The company is in the process of partnering with coffee machine brands and original equipment manufacturers to make the new concept available across the globe.
