Foley Family Wines, a California-based producer, marketer and distributor of wines, has purchased Lancaster Estate for an undisclosed amount.
The purchase includes the winery, vineyards, Lancaster and Roth labels, inventory, a 6,000ft² proprietor's home and small guest cottage.
Located in Alexander Valley of Sonoma County, Lancaster Estate consists of 50 acres of vineyards with complex soils and maritime climate, which makes it ideal for grape growing. The estate also contains a winery, tasting room and caves for winemaking and barrel storage.
Foley Family Wines founder Bill Foley said Lancaster Estate mainly produces Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux varieties.
"We believe the winery's quality reputation and positioning fits perfectly within the Foley Family Wines portfolio," Foley added.
Lancaster Estate founder Ted Simpkins said he was happy to partner with Bill Foley to further expand the Lancaster Estate and Roth brands.
"We strongly believe that the wines have great potential and the Foley Family Wines team will be excellent stewards of the brands," Simpkins added.
