Australian Vintage, an Australia-based winery that produces and exports bulk and bottled wine, is to strengthen its position in the UK wine markets by introducing new wine products under its core McGuigan portfolio.

The move includes the roll out of Blush and Black variants of the 5.5% ABV Vinni sparkling Moscato-based brand across major supermarkets and convenience stores in the UK, new wines under low-alcohol umbrella brand name Summer Light and Summer Time, and Bubblique sparkling wine.

All the new products are low in alcohol and are priced below £10, reported Harpers.

The new products will also bear labels featuring new recipes from master chef John Torode, who will work with Australia Vintage chief executive Neil McGuigan to create 50 recipes that will be embedded in the form of QR codes on the back labels of McGuigan wine bottles. These QR codes can be used by consumers to download the recipes.

Australian Vintage UK and Ireland head Julian Dyer was quoted by the website as saying that the quality of UK bottling has enabled them to bottle its McGuigan Black Label brand in the UK and will soon launch McGuigan Black Label Reserve to the independent sector.
