Diageo, a British multinational alcoholic beverages company, has unveiled Talisker Storm, the first blend among the many new Scotch whiskies to be launched under Talisker brand, in the UK and select European markets.
According to the company, the remaining expressions of Talisker will be rolled out later in 2013.
Talisker Strom is a bold, smoky expression that is matured in rejuvenated and refill casks at different ages. It possesses vibrant maritime notes and is bottled at 45.8% ABV, without an age statement.
Diageo master blender Jim Beveridge said they wanted to maintain the distillery character while making the Talisker Storm.
"So we sought out some great mature Talisker, enriched and mellowed by time spent in carefully rejuvenated casks, and brought that together with some very fresh distillery character preserved by maturation in refill casks," Beveridge added.
"The result is Talisker's unique distillery character delivered by aged, mature whiskies, integrated in one vibrant dram."
Talisker Storm will be available through domestic retail channels and special whiskey retailers in the UK and select European markets at a recommended retail price of £39.95 per bottle.
