The Marine Stewardship Council has launched a bilingual French-English eco-label in Canada.
More than 22 percent of Canada’s population consider French to be their primary language.
“The introduction of a bilingual eco-label is in response to market requests from Canadian retail, foodservice, high education and fishery partners and reflects the growing awareness and commitment to the MSC program across Canada,” said Geoff Bolan, MSC Americas region commercial director. “The new eco-label will be immediately available to partners and we expect to see it used very soon; in fact, its first use may coincide with an upcoming announcement of a new commitment to the MSc program from an iconic Canadian institution.”
