Constellation Brands, the owner of Kim Crawford Wines brand of New Zealand, has reported 20% increase in sales of Kim Crawford wines to one million cases in the last 12 months in North America.
The US had accounted for more than 60% of the sales, claims the company.
Launched for the first time in 1996, Kim Crawford Wines has been under Constellation Brands New Zealand portfolio since 2006. The brand includes wines such as New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, 2012 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and others.
Constellation Brand New Zealand president Joe Stanton was quoted by Voxy.co.nz as saying that Kim Crawford accounts for 45% of all its exports.
"It is sold in more than 50 countries and 88 per cent of Kim Crawford wine going offshore is Sauvignon Blanc," Stanton added.
"We use grapes from all over the Marlborough region where vineyards are selected by flavour profile for a desired outcome. We aim for a blend with a wide range of flavours from the tropical fruits to the herbaceous flavours."
Constellation Brands New Zealand is an exporter of New Zealand wine to the North American markets.
