Kansas City-based Multivac is planning the release of a new packaging for oven-ready seafood at the International Boston Seafood Show on March 10-12.
The Mylar COOK Material, from DuPont Teijin Films, is oven-safe and self-venting. The product follows a previous release of a cook-in-bag pork loin. At the show, the company plans to introduce a seafood version.
The bags work at temperatures up to 425 degrees Fahrenheit, or 218 degrees Celsius. The product is designed to make cooking fish in the oven fast and easy.
"The Mylar® COOK film concept is unique in the market,” said Frank Barel, national sales manager of Multivac’s direct packaging materials group. “We are delighted about the cooperation agreement with DuPont Teijin Films, with whom we have already successfully implemented several projects, including our latest with Alaskan Leader Seafoods of Seattle, Washington.”
