Core Tip: Frito-Lay North America, a division of PepsiCo Inc., is expanding its SunChips brand with a barbecue flavor.
SunChips Sweet & Spicy BBQ multigrain chips combine flavors of molasses, brown sugar and honey with hints of chipotle. The product contains 140 calories and 18 grams of whole grains per serving.

“Our fans have told us time and again that they love the taste of authentic barbecue and are always looking for unique ways to enjoy it,” said Tony Matta, vice-president of marketing for Frito-Lay. “Consumers have come to expect that whole grains and great taste naturally come together in SunChips snacks. We believe Sweet & Spicy BBQ flavored SunChips snacks is just what they’ve been waiting for.”

Other SunChips varieties include original, harvest cheddar, garden salsa, french onion, creamy roasted garlic and Parmesan and herb.

The product is available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $3.99 per 10.5-oz bag.
