Core Tip: UK-based The Dalmore distillery has introduced its new single malt whiskey, The Dalmore Valour, for sale in travel retail outlets.
The Dalmore Valour is a blend of three different cask finishes which is matured initially in first fill ex-Bourbon casks from Boston and Clermont in the US and then in 30 year-old Matusalem oloroso sherry butts from Gonzales Byass, Jerez de la Frontera in Spain.

After aging, the new whiskey is finessed in Port Pipes from Duoro Region, Portugal to create Dalmore expression.

The Dalmore master distiller Richard Paterson was quoted by Scotchwhisky.net as saying that Valour has a distinctive aroma of ripe plums, creamy caramel and citrus fruits on the nose and a palate that consists of oranges, pineapple and chocolate fudge.

It is being launched in Qatar Duty Free and will later be introduced at other travel retail outlets in 2013. It is priced at $72.
