The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the operation license of JHS Fishproducts Canada on 19 March 2013.

According to CFIA, the plant has not implemented corrective actions to overcome the deficiencies associated with sanitation, construction and equipment at the plant.

JHS Fishproducts processes dried fish heads, bones and fillets for export, which are not available in the nation's market.

The operations at the plant will be recommenced after the plant implements all the necessary corrective actions and its quality management program in order to prevent the occurrence of any such deficiencies over the next coming years.
