The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the fish import licence of Oneel Corporation Ltd., effective June 20, 2014. The company is located in North York, Ontario.
There is no food recall associated with this suspension. The import licence was suspended because the company, in the last year, failed to notify the CFIA of four fish imports within the required 48-hour timeframe detailed in the Fish Inspection Regulations. The company may not import fish into Canada while their import licence is suspended.
An appeal can be requested within 60 days of the suspension of the licence. This request must be accompanied by an acceptable written corrective action plan.
Licences and registrations of federally registered establishments or companies can be suspended or cancelled for failing to comply with relevant CFIA Acts and Regulations.
