A new winery - Old Mason Winery & Vineyard - is set to open its doors on 22 April 2013 near West Milton in Miami County, Ohio.
Located at 4199 Iddings Road near West Milton, the Old Mason winery follows the recent opening of the Caesar Creek Vineyards in eastern Greene County, Ohio.
The new winery is the brainchild of co-owners Chuck and Sherry Compton and Jeff and Donna Clark.
Chuck was quoted by daytondailynews.com as saying that the winery will initially offer five wines for sampling, including a dry Riesling, a sweet Riesling, a Niagara, a Cayuga wine - Sunlight and a red/white blend - Statesman, which will be followed by four more wines - Concord grape, peach, apple and raspberry.
The winery currently uses purchased grapes and fruit juices to produce wines. However the winery will soon begin producing wines from the estate-grown vineyards, which was planted with around 2,300 grapevines three years ago.
Old Mason Winery & Vineyard joins Caesar Creek Vineyards in eastern Greene County, Brandeberry Winery in Clark County, Valley Vineyards in Warren County, The Winery at Versailles in Darke County, Hanover Winery in Butler County, and Bent Tree Winery in Mason as the latest licensed winery of the Miami Valley.
