UK-based bakery firm Greggs is set to establish a frozen savories facility in Hinckley, Leicestershire, England, with an investment of about £30m, a move which is expected to create 300 new jobs.
The facility will manufacture a wide range of frozen savory products, which will be supplied to retailers across southern Britain. Currently, all of the company's savory products are manufactured near Newcastle.
The company has received approval from the Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council to construct the new facility.
Greggs currently supplies to its 1,671 outlets across the nation from a central savory production plant, while ten regional bakeries manufacture bread and other products. The company specialises in products such as pasties, sausage rolls and sandwiches, doughnuts and vanilla slices.
