Accolade Wines North America, a division of Australia-based Accolade Wine, has lined up Da Luca range of Italian wines for release in the US in spring 2013.
Da Luca comprises three distinct single varietals, including 2012 Pinot Grigio, 2011 Sangiovese DOC Romagna Superiore and DOC Prosecco.
To produce the wines, Da Luca works with vintners from southern Italian regions like Puglia and the island of Sicily to northern Italian regions like Piedmont and Venice to source premium grapes for each wine.
The 2012 Pinot Grigio is made from grapes sourced from the IGT Delle Venezie appellation, whereas the 2011 Sangiovese DOC Romagna Superiore is produced from grapes sourced from Emilia-Romagna and DOC Prosecco is produced from grapes grown in Treviso region.
Accolade Wines North America marketing vice president Reid Stinnett said the contemporary packaging is intentionally striking to generate consumer interest.
"In addition to the packaging, we are confident that consumers will also love the wines for their rich flavors," Stinnett added.
"These wines quickly gained traction in the U.K. and Europe following their introduction in 2002, and are now approaching 100,000 cases there. We anticipate that Da Luca will enjoy similar success with American consumers."
Both 2012 Pinot Grigio and 2011 Sangiovese DOC Romagna Superiore are priced in between $12-14 each, whereas DOC Prosecco is priced in between $14-16 per bottle.
