BioMar’s plant in Brande, Denmark has become the first feed plant to earn Aquaculture Stewardship Council certification.

The factory produces fry feed for all of BioMar’s markets in Europe.

“We are very pleased about this approval, which means that fish farmers who want to be ASC-certified, can utilize our feed.” said Ole Christensen, BioMar CEO.

“I was glad to see that BioMar played a very active role in this process, and ASC owes thanks to all those who have helped in the process,” said Chris Ninnes, ASC director. “And we hope that all these people who have worked so hard to make the standard a reality, will continue their commitment and support the important work that remains to be done to ensure a sustainable farming industry.”
