Maxxium UK, a Scotland-based wines and spirits distributor and part of sales and distribution alliance between Beam and The Edrington Group, is to distribute Edrington’s vodka brand, Snow Leopard, in the UK.
Edrington purchased Snow Leopard in early 2013 from Simon Sparrow, a former global vice president at Allied Domecq.
Launched in 2006, the vodka is made in small batches from spelt grains at the Polmos Lublin distillery in Poland. The vodka is subjected to six-stage distillation process before being bottled at 40% ABV.
Maxxium UK managing director Huw Pennell said the vodka is a perfect fit for the company.
"The success of our luxury portfolio has been a key driver for us and the opportunity continues to grow," Pennell added.
Edrington donates 15% of profits from the sales of Snow Leopard brand to the Snow Leopard Trust.
Snow Leopard Trust founder and conservationist Stephen Sparrow said they have come a long way in seven years and having these world class organizations behind the brand now will provide the momentum for Snow Leopard vodka to grow and play an instrumental part in the snow leopard's survival in the wild.
