Krispy Kreme signs 15 store development deal with Sun Holdings in Texas

Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation, the principal operating subsidiary of sweet treats and complementary products retailer and wholesaler Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, has inked a development agreement with Sun Holdings to open 15 additional outlets in Texas over the next five years.

Sun Holdings also bought three company-owned Krispy Kreme shops in the Dallas, Texas market.

The company operates nearly 400 outlets in Texas and Florida, including the Burger King, Popeye's, Arby's, CiCi's, Golden Corral and Del Taco brands. It also operates 13 T-Mobile stores.

US Franchises and Company Stores senior vice president Cindy Bay said, "Their extensive franchise experience with well-known brands gives us great confidence that they are the ideal group to represent the unique Krispy Kreme brand in the Dallas market."

Krispy Kreme currently has over 240 shops in the US, of which approximately 150 are franchised.

The company also has additional 530 outlets in 21 countries outside the US, all of which are franchised.
