A Chilean salmon processing plant is the latest to get the Global Aquaculture Alliance(GAA)’s best aquaculture practices (BAP) certification.
The company’s Nova Austral, a Chilean firm that is part of the Pescanova group, earned the certification for its plant in Porvenir, Chile.
The company processes more than 20,000 metric tons (MT) of Atlantic salmon each year, selling primarily to retail and foodservice customers in the European Union, North America, Japan, Russia, China, Southeast Asia and Latin America.
