Finnish meat exports to China successfully promoted discussions in Beijing. Chinese authorities promised the Finnish delegation to rush pork imports of the process and the inspection team sent to Finland.

Finnish meat is not currently able to export to China. The export can only be started when the Chinese authorities are reviewed and approved by the Finnish slaughterhouses and establishments.

Discussions plant inspections were conducted in a good spirit. Food Safety Authority Evira Unit Kyösti Siponen hopes that the Finnish facility inspections a reality as quickly as possible.

Finnish delegation met with the Authority's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantinen (AQSIQ) and the representatives of the Deputy Minister Wu Qinghai. AQSIQ is responsible for the quality of the imported food inspection and meat establishments prior approval.

The meeting was attended by the Finnish authorities as representatives of Social Affairs and Health Paula Risikko and the Finnish Food Safety Authority Evira Unit Kyösti Siponen.
