Hawaiian Organic Noni has announced the discovery of a new superfruit, one that contains many anti-aging antioxidants. These reside in Noni Fruit Leather.

The company has recently completed laboratory testing to ascertain the antioxidant value of this Noni Fruit Leather, which was shown to have 14 times more antioxidants than noni juice.

Noni Fruit Leather replaces most other antioxidant-rich foods as the leader, even popular favorites like apples, cinnamon, oregano, blueberries, pomegranates, and acai berries.

Antioxidants are known to counter the processes of age-related degeneration and disease. To do this, they slow the oxidizing process of the body and limit free radical damage. Free radicals are unmatched electrons orbiting atoms in the cells, which are created from the environment. Free radicals are harmful to the body's cells and in particular a body's DNA. Environmental factors that can create free radicals include pollutants in the air and foods sprayed with chemicals. Stress and poor personal habits can also produce free radicals in the body's cells. Their causes and true effects are not yet fully know.

The US Department of Agriculture has established a measurement for the antioxidant power in foods called the Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC). Foods that claim to have antioxidant properties are measured along this scale. The foods found on this list are not all served in the same form. For example, freeze-dried acai berries are compared to fresh goji berries and blueberries. But the rankings are still an important way for conscientious eaters to understand the antioxidant levels of the foods they choose.

The USDA has determined that to maintain maximum health, a person should consume at least 3,000-5,000 ORAC units every day.

100 grams of an apple contains 3,082 ORAC units, and 100 grams of blueberries contains 2,400 units. By contrast, 100 grams of Noni Fruit Leather contains 340,000 units! This places Noni Fruit Leather clearly at the top of the list of the foods highest in antioxidants.

Hawaiian Organic Noni seeks to provide the best tasting Noni Fruit Leather with the highest potency and health benefits. Noni fruit products are available from lotions to fruit leather to pet health supplements.
