Core Tip: Casella Wines, makers of Australia’s iconic wine brand -- yellow tail -- has announced that the company has bottled its one billionth bottle of yellow tail wine.
Amcor Glass, thyellow tail winee company that has been supplying Casella Wines with wine bottles for yellow tail for over 10 years, today presented Casella with a commemorative bottle, to mark the occasion.

The notable milestone has been achieved in less than 11 years since yellow tail was launched in 2001, with the mission of providing a range of approachable, fresh, fun, consistent and quality wines, to millions of fans around the world.

John Casella, Managing Director of Casella Wines is delighted to share the news of this achievement.

“One billion bottles means that 10 billion glasses of yellow tail wine have been enjoyed around the world,” said John.

"We're extremely proud to have provided one billion bottles of yellow tail wine to people in more than 50 countries. This result shows there is strong demand for [yellow tail] wine not only in our home country, but also abroad,” said John.

Nigel Garrard, Managing Director, Amcor Australasia & Packaging Distribution said he was proud to be involved in this extraordinary success story.

“For over a decade Amcor has partnered with Casella Wines to share great quality Australian wine with the world. We’re proud to have helped this family business on their journey to become Australia's largest independent producer and exporter of bottled wine,” said Nigel.

The yellow tail brand has come a long way since John’s parents, Filippo and Maria Casella began growing grapes at Yenda in the Riverina region in 1969. Today, yellow tail is the number one imported wine and the number one red wine in the U.S., the largest wine market in the world.

“Our success is testament to the commitment and hard work of all of our staff, and the support of our distributors, trade partners and our loyal fans. We’re continuing to see growth year-on-year and this is a result of the quality, consistency and value proposition that we offer with [yellow tail]," said John.

John commented that he was looking forward to building on this success and sharing the range of award winning yellow tail wines with consumers for many years to come.

“We’re focused on improving quality, variety and value and continuing to create great beverages that people all over the world can enjoy, on any occasion. We are excited about the future of yellow tail and reaching our next milestone,” said John.
