Marine Harvest Chairman Ole-Eirik Lerøy has added another 30 million shares in the Norwegian salmon farmer to his portfolio, buying the stocks for USD 18.1 million (EUR 13.1 million).

Lerøy bought the shares from Geveran Trading Co., controlled by John Fredriksen, who purchased the shares from Marine Harvest back in December 2011. The stocks sold for NOK 3.7 (USD 0.60, EUR 0.44) per share.

After the transaction, Lerøy's stake in the company totals 42.2 million shares, or 1 percent of the issued share capital. Geveran still holds 1.1 billion shares, representing 31.31 percent of the issued share capital in Marine Harvest. Geveran also, through TRS agreements, is connected to an additional 70 million more shares.
