Bell & Evans, a US-based producer of poultry products, has outlined plans to develop two new plants and hatchery, in a move to expand its chicken operations.
This expansion is in line with the company's strategy to meet the consumer demand.
The company has submitted its expansion plans to the Lebanon County Commission, as it seeks tax breaks from the commission for the construction of one processing plant and a hatchery, reports The Lebanon Daily News.
Construction of the first plant is expected to be completed within a year, while the second plant is scheduled for completion after three years from now.
Bell & Evans is a major producer of chickens raised without antibiotics. In addition to fresh chicken, the company has developed a full line of ready-to-cook and fully-cooked frozen entrees and premium snacks made from Bell & Evans chicken.
The company's other fine products include Bell & Evans Ducks, Cornish Game Hens and Turkey products.
